Telecommunication Rigging Support Specialist
Position Overview & Responsibilities:
The roll of the TRSS is split into two areas. Field Installation and Reporting.
2 TRSS members will be combined with 2 other telecom rigging engineers producing a 4 person crew for the purposes of completing installation of various combination of technologies on cell sites.
The TSS MUST and will be trained in required safety measure and rigging to perform his/her duties.
Other duties:
• Installation of feeders, fiber, power cables, Antennas, RRUs, Microwave, Cabinets, grounding, and all other activities related to implementing the engineered solution to quality standards
• Photos for Quality Control purposes, Floor and tower sketches
• Identification and annotation of new and existing equipment
• May drive to job site or to obtain supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.
Areas of responsibility include:
• Liaise with the scheduler who identifies which site you will be assigned.
• Collect site, shelter and equipment keys for the site
• Ensure site is secured properly when leaving
• Contact the N.O.C before entering site
• Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times
• Collect data, Tower and ground photos where applicable
• Ensure data is well documented and delivered to the office the same day..
• Complete Report within 24 hrs of collecting data.
Education and Experience
• CXC or equivalent training with 2 or more year’s technical experience preferred
• Positive attitude, well organized, dependable, and excellent listening skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of IT.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
• Must be able to work alone with little or no direction.
• Will need to work outdoors in all weather conditions, at times in confined spaces.
• Heavy lifting (30 kgs+), carrying of loads up and down stairs/ladders, walking and/or standing for prolonged periods.
• Working with heights, climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds, and towers.
• Ability to distinguish between colors, use small hand tools.
• Reaching and/or grasping, stooping, kneeling, bending, crawling, and crouching.
• Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions, mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazards.
